Kim created the company out of the simple love of a good party. She is a master of many trades, a collector of knowledge, and wise beyond her years. Kim's Master's Degree in Conflict Transformation with an emphasis in Negotiation has given her a very specialized niche in the wedding industry. Kim is a mentor to many and a firm believer that family is the most important thing in life. She is always up for an adventure and the lake is her happy place. Her calm nature brings you instant peace, and her strong will can make the impossible happen. Kim always makes sure to get a peek of the bride’s dad seeing his little girl in her dress for the first time!
Accountant, Controller, & Scheduling
Andrew is a numbers guy through and through. He is the one that keeps our company together, the checkbook balanced, and the bills paid on time.
He's a gentle father, kind-hearted, a sounding board, and a family man. This guy is crazy about Hokie Football; as an alumnus of Virginia Tech, in his younger "child-free" years, Andrew attended a few games each season for many years after College. These days he is lucky to catch a game or two a year on tv from his living room.
He has spent his career as an Accountant and Bookkeeper for small businesses and he continues to do so under his own company, "Stewardship Solutions." We are fortunate to have him as part of our team.
Assistant Wedding Planner
Michelle is Richmond born, raised, and spending all of her days!
She has a Bachelors degree in Hospitality Management and LOVES weddings and events. Growing up she always wanted to be a wedding planner and started her career at another event venue on the southside. Working as a ceremony and reception coordinator, she knew she was in the right field. The adreneline and excitement drew her in and she loves being part of it all! Michelle's favorite part about a wedding cermeony is the look on the grooms face as the bride comes down the aisle. The first dance is something she always trys to catch and is her favorite aspection of the celebration!
In her free time she spends every moment with her children. Weekends off are usually spent running from cheer competitions to football games! Michelle is excited to be part of the team at Kim Moody Design with a focus on receptions at The Estate at River Run, and continue her growth in her wedding planning career through the years with KMD!
Olivia Sigler has joined our team as an Intern. She is currently studying Hospitality Management and Business at James Madison University. Olivia has a passion for planning events and seeing big projects come together. She looks forward to being able to create that magical day for couples.
Olivia first found her love for planning events when she began planning her birthday parties when she was little. From there, she loved any type of event that brought happiness to a group of people. Although, she wasn't super girly, her favorite thing was watching Say Yes To The Dress on Saturday mornings with her mom. These television marathons sparked her love for weddings.
In her free time, Olivia loves spending time with friends, family, and her dog, Dixie. You can often find her spending time at the beach or anywhere in the sunshine.
Her favorite part of weddings is seeing the joy when the couple sees each other for the first time. She is very excited to work with you all in the future and will work hard to create a day you will never forget!
Meet our newest intern Rachel, who hails from Denver, Colorado! She began her internship mid December 2019 and will be with us on property until the end of May.
Rachel has a long-time interest in celebrations with family and friends, especially family reunions, birthdays, and weddings. She is passionate about learning more in the field of event planning. While interning on property at The Estate at River Run, Rachel is having a once in a lifetime experience of learning about life at the Estate! She is dedicated to developing an understanding of what each bride, groom, and wedding party expects on their special day, and working with the team to create the magic that only this venue can deliver.
Rachel’s academic passions are ancient history and classic literature, while in her down time she enjoys hospitality…cooking and baking, travel, and planning adventures. In fact, her favorite television series is The Great British Bake-Off!
The most special part of a wedding for Rachel is seeing the plan on paper come to fruition!
Jordan is joining our team as an intern from nearby Mechanicsville, Virginia, and she is a Hospitality Management major and Business minor at James Madison University. Her interest in event planning arose from her want to make every gathering just right, no matter the size of it. She has always had a love for weddings, mostly the warm, fairytale-like feeling that they bring, but she has grown to love every small detail as well. She remembers her love for weddings growing stronger when two of her family members got married one summer, so she was able to see just how everything goes down. She has also always loved love stories. Whether it be a TV show, movie or in real life, they’ve always been her favorite and she can’t wait to be a part of many love stories finally tying the knot and giving them their dream day.
Her favorite place to be is outside, specifically in the Outer Banks or in the Blue Ridge Mountains. She loves the sun beating down on a warm spring day, or the cool breeze on a fall afternoon. Her favorite pastime is spending quality time with family and going to see friends.
She has two favorite parts to weddings! One being the grooms face as the bride is walking down the aisle, and the second one being when the bride and groom walk in to their reception to all of their guests and have their first dance together.
She is very excited to help plan a couple’s special day and help it become unforgettable!
